World Engineer’s Convention

What are you doing this September?  Consider traveling to Geneva, Switzerland for the 2011 World Engineer’s Convention.  Engineers from around the world are gathering to energy, one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century.  The organizers are seeking young engineers to share their creativity on several design competitions.  Learn more at

The competition gives you a chance as a young engineer (up to the age of about 30 years, completing your BSc or MSc / having started your professional career) to experience that you are – an expert – able to find solutions for the big social questions – able to work and collaborate in an international team – able to present your solution to international experts in that Competition

Coaches from Swiss universities defined projects to be worked on by teams consisting of up to 5 young engineers from around the world. March till August the teams work on the projects on the virtual platform provided by WEC 2011, via skype or telephone conferences. On 2 September 2011 the teams gather in Switzerland together with their coach to finalize their projects and prepare their presentation to the jury. On 4 September 2011 the jury selects 3-4 projects to be orally presented in a session at WEC 2011, the other projects will be presented on posters or via video clips. The teams participate at WEC 2011.
