Team of Editors Earn Recognition for Book

ASCE has honored Satinder K. Brar, Ph.D.; Tian C. Zhang, Ph.D., P.E., D.WRE, F.ASCE; Mausam Verma, Ph.D.; Rao Y. Surampalli, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE, Hon.D.WRE, F.EWRI, Dist.M.ASCE; and R. D. Tyagi with the 2017 ASCE State of the Art of Civil Engineering Award for the book Nanomaterials in the Environment (ASCE, 2015).

This new publication by ASCE offers the most current knowledge on the environmental impact of materials and products developing using nanotechnology. A result of the effort of the Society’s Technical Committee on Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste, the book’s editors have identified nanomaterials in the environment as an important area for environmental applications and sustainable development.

The ASCE State-of-the-Art of Civil Engineering Award is presented to the individual, individuals, or committee that has prepared, for the benefit of the profession, the most outstanding paper which reviews and interprets state-of-the-art scientific and technical information.
