Raymond Daddazio is President and Chief Executive Officer of Weidlinger Associates, Inc. He is responsible for day-to-day operations of the privately held consulting engineering firm, founded in 1949, and coordinates the activities of its business units to ensure that Weidlinger is always supporting its clients with the best engineering solutions the firm can offer. Ray joined Weidlinger in 1979 and progressed through various professional roles within the firm’s Applied Science business unit. In 1996, he was named director of this group and was responsible for all advanced technology initiatives of the firm. During this time, he explored unique opportunities to collaborate with the firm’s Building Design and Transportation and Infrastructure groups on protective design projects of national importance, which escalated significantly in number and scope after September 11, 2001. Ray was named President and CEO in January 2006. In this role, he provides strategic and operational leadership across business lines and geographies. He is dedicated to advancing the innovative practice of engineering within the industry, profession, and firm of more than 300 professionals and administrative staff in the United States and United Kingdom. Ray is a native New Yorker and lives in New York City with his wife and daughter. He earned BS, MS, and EngScD degrees from Columbia University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State. He is a member of several professional societies, including ASCE, NSPE and Sigma Xi, and serves on the board of directors of the New York Building Congress and ACEC New York. Ray is committed to science and engineering education in America and is the current Chairman of the Board of Visitors at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and a member of the Industry Advisory Committee of Columbia’s Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics.
