Bruce Peterson, P.E., F.SEI, F.ASCE, a bridge engineer and project manager with Modjeski and Masters Inc., has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.
Peterson has been with Modjeski and Masters since 1977. As project manager in the Design Section of the New Orleans office, he oversees the design and preparation of plans and specifications for numerous fixed and movable bridge projects. In addition, he has developed designs for new bridges and for the replacement or rehabilitation of existing bridges.
Peterson was the project manager for the Huey P. Long Bridge Widening Project, an ASCE OCEA Finalist in 2014.
He has been involved with ASCE since college at the Pennsylvania State University, where he was the Student Chapter president. He was one of the first associate editors of the Society’s Journal of Bridge Engineering and was its second chief editor, from September 2003 to December 2009.
Peterson currently serves as a member of the ASCE National Technical Program Committee.
