Picture This: ASCE Bridges Photo Contest Now Open

February 3, 2015

3PKYLKACan anyone dare deny the importance of a well-photographed bridge?

Photography can be the perfect medium to allow a person to communicate with the world and share his or her vision of what they think is an ideal or historical bridge. A well-photographed bridge can, through image, express a civil engineer’s deep feelings and sensitivity regarding sound structure and creative design.

With the start of a new year comes a new photography competition and a new chance to showcase your creative talent.

ASCE is pleased to announce that the 2015 ASCE Bridges Photo Contest is now officially open. Whether you are an amateur or professional photographer, ASCE is looking for striking photographs of bridges, taken in the U.S. or abroad, that highlight design and engineering achievements of civil engineers.

Entries are welcome and your work will be judged by a panel of esteemed civil engineers and photographers. This is your chance to become eligible for inclusion in our 2016 Bridges Calendar, gain widespread exposure, and also win some great prizes along the way.

Contestants can enter up to 5 photos across 7 categories using the online entry form. But hurry, the contest ends on March 31. Official rules are available.

So good luck and happy snapping!
