Terry F. Neimeyer, P.E., FACEC, BCEE, ENV SP, F.ASCE, is CEO and chairman of the board of Sparks, Maryland–headquartered KCI Technologies Inc., which he first joined after graduating college in 1997. Beginning his career as an entry-level civil engineer, Neimeyer worked his way up in KCI until he was named president in November 1995, and the firm today employs a staff of 1,100 and operates 28 offices in 13 states. As an engineer and principal of KCI, he has managed the overall designs of many major environmental, site development, and construction inspections for highway and bridge projects in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Actively engaged in ASCE since he became a member in 1977, Neimeyer served as past president of the Delaware Section of ASCE, and as a current member of the Society’s Industry Leaders Council. A past board member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Neimeyer has also served as chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce. Named Civil Engineer of the Year by the Maryland Section of ASCE in 1991, Neimeyer earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware in 1977, and his master’s degree in environmental engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1980. Presently, he serves on the Johns Hopkins National Advisory Council for the Whiting School of Engineering.
