Sandeep Prakash Mathur, P.E., SECB, LEED AP, F.ASCE, is currently serving as a regional engineering manager at Gerdau Long Steel North America’s downstream division, where he is responsible for overseeing outside steel reinforcing detailing services, and is regularly involved during the construction phase services of large signature civil engineering projects.
Mathur, who has over 25 years of diverse experience in various facets of civil engineering, is a proponent of improving the sustainability of our nation’s infrastructure, and is the author of the chapter entitled “Infrastructure” in the book Sustainability Guidelines for the Structural Engineer, published by ASCE.
Besides sustainability, Mathur’s other areas of interest include the understanding and adaption of new technology to streamline and automate data collection techniques during structural integrity inspection of facilities, and he has co-authored technical papers on the topic of infrastructure data collection and management techniques.
Past chair of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute’s Sustainability Committee (2009-2013), he is a 2006 recipient of the prestigious Business First’s Forty Under Forty (40U40) award for the Louisville, Kentucky, area.
Mathur received his bachelor’s degree from the Manipal Institute of Technology, his master’s degree from Cornell University, and his master’s of business administration from Pace University.
