Athena M. Hutchins, P.E., F.ASCE, executive director of the Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition, has been named a Fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.
Hutchins is responsible for providing overall leadership and management for the multiagency international coalition of transportation entities in Western New York and Southern Ontario (Canada). This includes multiagency intelligent transportation systems (ITS) facility operations and technology deployment, information dissemination, standards development, incident management, and regional collaboration across international boundaries.
She has over 20 years of professional experience and has also been active in ASCE in the Buffalo Section in several roles, including as Section President (2007-08). She is currently a member of ASCE’s Committee on Diversity and Inclusion.
Hutchins received her B.S. in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo and is a licensed professional engineer in New York.
