The ASCE Board of Direction recently elevated Douglas H. Eckmann, P.E., BCEE, D.WRE, F.ASCE, to the status of ASCE Fellow. Eckmann serves as chief operations officer and engineering manager for TKW Consulting Engineers, Inc., a consulting firm practicing civil, water resource, water-related infrastructure, and structural engineering in Fort Myers, Florida.
Early experience with a nuclear industry pipe fabricator in Chicago led to a position with a start-up company, Enviroquip, Inc., an emerging fabricator of water and wastewater process equipment in Austin, Texas.
In addition, Eckmann is a self-taught environmental engineer. He qualified as a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers by examination, and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer through the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.
In 2014, Eckmann was honored as Diplomate of the American Academy of Water Resource Engineers. He is currently active in consulting engineering, design and construction of civil engineering, infrastructure, water resource, and water and wastewater treatment projects.
Eckmann earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1971, and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
