ASCE Announces Three 2014 Award Winners

Seven individuals have been honored as recipients of three ASCE awards for government engineering service and a peer reviewed journal article.

Sreenivas Alampalli, Ph.D., P.E., F.SEI, F.ASCE, received the Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award for his outstanding engineering achievements, internationally recognized leadership in professional and technical societies, and remarkable humanitarian and professional development activities.

Douglas D. Knapp, P.E., M.ASCE, was honored with the Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award for his professional contributions to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, his dedication to public service and community outreach, and his overarching enthusiasm for the engineering profession.

Douglas D. Gransberg, Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE, Jennifer S. Shane, A.M.ASCE, Kelly Strong, Ph.D., DBIA, A.M.ASCE, and Carla Lopez del Puerto, Ph.D., are the recipients of The Journal of Management in Engineering Best Peer Reviewed Paper Award for their paper, “Project Complexity Mapping in Five Dimensions for Complex Transportation Projects,” which appeared in the October 2013 issue of ASCE’s Journal of Management in Engineering.
