It was terrific meeting so many of you once again, or for the first time, in Charlotte at ASCE’s annual conference. I can’t believe we’ve come full circle already from a year ago in Montreal. It was a whirlwind of a year, with much to feel good about and be proud of. Wherever I traveled, be it California, Congress or Kolkata, at every meeting or address, I respected that I was there on behalf of all of ASCE, and in some sense, on behalf of the profession itself. I thank you for that high honor.
In my farewell address at the conference, I detailed the progress we made over the past year in our strategic initiatives of infrastructure, sustainability, and Raise the Bar, as well as other key accomplishments. I encourage you to read the summation of my remarks in this article in ASCE News.
I’ve not ended my involvement in ASCE by a long shot, not after nearly 30 years. I look forward to continuing to serve ASCE in support of Randy Over as past president, and beyond, and to seeing you at those events and activities. My thanks to you for reading this blog.
