Over the 4th of July weekend, we took a short vacation to Michigan City, Indiana. The main attraction was that it’s about halfway between Chicago and my parents’ home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The tour guide also advertises the beach, an outlet mall, wineries, and, notably, Blue Chip Casino. We stayed two nights in a brand new wing of the casino. Our room on the 15th floor had a pretty cool view of the city. Photos below.
Note the large barge in the lower left corner. That’s actually the gambling floor. Somehow the gambling laws are satisfied by the alleged riverboat setup. Now note the river leading to the lake on the left. There’s no way that the “riverboat casino” can move any further downstream than the vanity pier!
